tietiy.in ("we", "us", "this site") is a daily market-context publication for Indian equities. We collect as little personal data as possible. This page explains exactly what is collected, why, what your choices are, and how to exercise the rights granted to you under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 ("DPDP Act").

Data Fiduciary identity

Under the DPDP Act, the "Data Fiduciary" is the entity that decides the purpose and means of processing your personal data.

Data Fiduciary: TIE TIY (sole-proprietorship operation, tietiy.in)
Contact: contact@tietiy.in

What personal data we collect

Reading the site requires no account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or portfolio. Concretely:

  • Analytics — none personal. If/when traffic measurement is enabled we use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect or store any personal identifier (no IP address kept after the request, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking). It complies with the DPDP Act's data-minimisation principle by design.
  • Browser push tokens — only if you opt in. If you accept the consent banner, our notification provider (OneSignal) stores an anonymous subscription token in your browser. The token is not linked to your name, email, or IP, and you can revoke it any time via the Manage cookie preferences modal or your browser's notification settings.
  • Email — only if you write to us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply. We don't add you to any list.
  • Server logs. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs (IP, user-agent, requested URL) for ≤30 days for security and operations only — never used for profiling.

Purpose and retention

  • Push tokens: kept while you remain subscribed. Removed immediately when you opt out via the manage-preferences modal OR when your browser revokes the permission.
  • Consent preferences cookie (tietiy_consent): stores your choice (push: yes/no, version, timestamp). Lives in your browser for 13 months (the DPDP-compliant ceiling), after which we ask for consent again.
  • Email correspondence: kept while the conversation is relevant; deleted on request.
  • Server logs: ≤30 days, then rotated by the host.

Cookies on this site

The full list of cookies this site may set:

  • tietiy_consent — first-party, strictly necessary. Records your consent choice. Set only when you interact with the banner. 13-month expiry.
  • OneSignal cookies / local-storage entries — third-party, set ONLY if you opted in to push notifications. Used by the notification SDK to remember the subscription state.
  • No advertising cookies. If/when contextual ads are enabled in future, this section will be expanded and your consent re-requested.

You can change your push-notification choice any time: Open the Manage preferences modal .

Your rights under the DPDP Act

The DPDP Act grants you the following rights:

  • Right of access — ask us what personal data (if any) we hold about you.
  • Right of correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right of erasure — ask us to delete data we hold about you. Since we hold almost nothing, this is usually instant.
  • Right of grievance redressal — escalate any concern to our Grievance Officer (below).
  • Right to withdraw consent — for push notifications, use the manage-preferences modal; for email, just reply asking to be removed.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@tietiy.in with the subject line "DPDP request". We respond within 30 days (the statutory ceiling).

Grievance Officer

Per Section 8(9) of the DPDP Act, we publish the contact details of the person responsible for handling DPDP-related grievances:

Name: Operator (full name available on request)
Email: contact@tietiy.in
Subject line: "Grievance — DPDP"
Response window: within 30 calendar days

Push notifications

Browser push notifications are strictly opt-in via our consent banner. You can opt in or out at any time using the manage-preferences modal OR your browser's notification settings. The notification provider receives only an anonymous subscription token, never your identity.

WhatsApp channel

Our daily brief is delivered through a WhatsApp Channel. WhatsApp Channels are one-way broadcasts: we cannot see your phone number, name, or profile when you follow the channel. Leaving the channel removes you instantly. WhatsApp's own privacy policy governs that platform.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links — see our Affiliate Disclosure for the full text. The presence or absence of these links does not affect editorial content, and clicking them does not give us any additional personal information beyond what the partner site chooses to share with you in their own privacy policy.

Cross-border transfer

Our host (Vercel) and our notification provider (OneSignal) are US-based companies. Any data they process for us — server logs (Vercel), anonymous push tokens (OneSignal) — may be processed outside India. This is permitted under DPDP Section 16 for countries the Central Government has not restricted.

Children

This site discusses financial markets and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor in your care has shared data with us, email contact@tietiy.in and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above changes with it and the change is noted on the homepage. The previous version is available on request.
